Like a fight?
A bag weighing slightly less than my own weight (we’re not quite in balance) is suspended from a pulley.
I’m strapped in with a corset.
Standing still at over 30°, the crowd passes by; some of them don’t see me. Then a cry of surprise, a gasp of fear from a woman in the audience who spots me. I let time pass – impossible to tell how long – sweating in this work overalls that strangely resemble a sandbag.
Slowly, I start to move. It’s a struggle.
To play / struggle with this burden, this obstacle.
The words come, keep it light, until exhaustion sets in.
Until it is released, pierce the bag and let it empty.
